Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 May 2026

The short version: Sussed is a revision tutoring service. You pay a monthly or annual subscription to access AI tutoring, past paper marking, and study tools. The 30-day trial is free with no card needed. You can cancel any time and won’t be charged again. We’ll do our best to provide a useful product but can’t guarantee specific exam results.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Sussed website and app (getsussed.co.uk). By using Sussed, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

Sussed is operated as a sole trader business based in New Zealand.

2. Who can use Sussed

Sussed is designed for secondary school students preparing for GCSE, A-Level and NCEA examinations — typically aged 14 to 18.

If you are under 16 (UK) or under 16 (NZ), you must have a parent or guardian agree to these terms on your behalf before signing up. Parents and guardians are responsible for subscriptions paid on behalf of a minor.

By using Sussed, you confirm that:

3. Free trial

New users receive a 30-day free trial with full access to all AI features. No credit card is required to start the trial.

At the end of the trial, AI features will pause until you subscribe. Non-AI features (timetable, spec tracker, techniques) remain free.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Pricing

Current pricing:

All prices include any applicable tax. Pricing may change — if it does, you’ll be notified at least 30 days in advance and the new price will only apply to your next billing cycle.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance — monthly subscriptions every month, annual subscriptions every year — via Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews until you cancel it.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Stripe customer portal or by contacting us at hello@getsussed.co.uk. After cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew.

Refunds

If you cancel a monthly subscription, you keep access until the end of the month already paid for. We don’t typically refund partial months.

If you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of payment and have not used the service substantively, you may request a full refund. Beyond 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

If something goes wrong on our end — for example, the service is unavailable for an extended period — we’ll consider a fair refund. Contact hello@getsussed.co.uk.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your AI access may be paused until the payment succeeds. Stripe will automatically retry the payment a few times. We’ll email you if there’s a persistent problem.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. What Sussed is, and what it isn’t

Sussed is a study support tool. It is designed to help students revise and prepare for exams more effectively. It is not:

The AI tutor uses Claude (made by Anthropic). Like all AI systems, it can occasionally make mistakes, get facts wrong, or generate responses that are not perfectly accurate. Students should treat AI responses as a starting point for understanding, not as absolute truth. We recommend cross-checking important information against textbooks, teachers, and official exam board materials.

7. Intellectual property

The Sussed website, app, branding, and original content are owned by us. You may use them only as part of using the service.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (questions, answers, feedback). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it to provide and improve the service.

AI-generated responses are not copyrightable in most jurisdictions and we make no claim of ownership over them. You can use them however you like for your own study purposes.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Sussed running smoothly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Occasional maintenance, technical issues, or third-party service outages (Anthropic, Stripe, Netlify) may cause temporary disruptions.

If we plan significant maintenance, we’ll try to give advance notice via email or on the site.

9. Changes to Sussed

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Sussed over time. We’ll communicate significant changes via the site or email. Where a change materially reduces what your subscription gives you, you may cancel and (where reasonable) receive a partial refund.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Sussed is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to lost time, lost grades, missed exam opportunities, or any decision you make based on AI-generated content.

Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under UK or NZ consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by contract.

11. Termination

You can stop using Sussed at any time by cancelling your subscription and (optionally) requesting deletion of your data.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, attempt to defraud us, or use the service in a way that causes serious risk to us or other users. In serious cases we may do this without notice.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand, unless you are a UK consumer, in which case you may also bring proceedings in the UK courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to subscribers by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Sussed after the change date means you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, you can cancel your subscription.
